2026 Alaska State Match Play Championship Men's & Women's

Conducted under the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA, along with applicable Local Rules and Conditions of Competition established by the Alaska Golf Association (AGA) and the host facility.

Entry Fee

  • $125

Entry Includes: Green fees for the seeding round, range balls, food.

Cart Fee is $27/player. You can select this add on at time of registration.

Participants that make it to the Round of 16 are responsible for their green fee's the day of play.

OPTIONAL SKINS: $20 for seeding round.

Transportation:
Golf carts are optional and available at the player’s expense. A maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart will be enforced. Shared carts are required unless a valid medical exemption is provided.

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must:

  1. Comply with Section III. “Eligibility for Other AGA-Sanctioned Events.”
  2. Possess an active Handicap Index® issued through a WHS-licensed AGA member golf club
  3. Have posted a minimum of eight (8) scores at AGA member courses within the 18 months preceding the entry deadline

Format:

  • June 26 – Stroke Play Seeding Round (Gross Scoring) @ 3:00pm tee times start.
  • June 27–28 – Match Play (Gross Scoring)

Match Play Advancement:

  • Top 16 – Men’s Open Division
  • Top 16 – Senior Men’s Division
  • Women's - TBD by sign ups

Divisions & Tees

  • Men’s Open Division – Blue Tees
  • Senior Men’s Division – White Tees
  • Women’s Division – Green Tees

Ties: All Match Play ties will be resolved with extra holes until a winner is determined.


Rules & Local Policies

  • Model Local Rule F-13: Relief from animal hoof damage permitted
  • Model Local Rule F-14: Loose impediments such as wood chips are Ground Under Repair
  • Flagsticks may remain in the hole during play
  • Relief permitted from all marked GUR areas

Doubt as to Procedure
Under Rule 3-3, a second ball may be played in stroke play if in doubt. The situation must be reported to the Committee after the round.

Driving Range
Opens 1 hour before the first tee time each day. Range ball codes will be available on the range.


Scoring & Pairings

  • Seeding Round: Pairings will be posted in advance via Golf Genius
  • Match Play: Pairings determined by bracket advancement
  • Scorecards: Not required for Match Play; optional for personal use

Player Agreement & Consent

By submitting an entry, participants affirm the following:

  • All eligibility requirements are met
  • Full acceptance of risks associated with participation, including health-related risks
  • The AGA reserves the right to deny or withdraw entries due to:
    • Unbecoming conduct
    • Violation of AGA policies or tournament conditions

Furthermore, participants agree to:

  • Abide by all decisions made by the AGA or Tournament Committee without protest
  • Abide by pace-of-play protocol, the maximum time allowed to complete the round is 4 hour and 45 mins. A warning will be given, and then the entire group will be given a penalty, further violation warrants disqualification.
  • Allow use of their name, image, and tournament results in AGA publications, social media, and other media channels
